Pennsylvania 13-Year-Old Girl Charged In Mom’s Murder

A 13-year-old girl has been arrested in Pennsylvania after allegedly killing her mother in a dispute over a cell phone, according to police and local reports.

The Wilkes-Barre City Police Department responded to a call regarding an unresponsive woman at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 44-year-old woman with apparent wounds to her torso and head, along with another individual who had sustained stab wounds. A 13-year-old girl was also present and was subsequently detained.

The girl has been charged as an adult and is currently in custody, facing charges of criminal homicide and aggravated assault.

Although the police have not yet responded to requests for further information or the arrest warrant from the media, multiple local sources have reported that the 13-year-old daughter allegedly fatally stabbed her mother following an argument.

During questioning, the girl reportedly confessed to the police, stating, “I don’t have my phone because my mom took it before our fight,” and “I’m the reason my mom is dead,” according to the news, citing an affidavit.

The mother was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner’s office, with an autopsy pending.

The news reported that an 11-year-old boy in the residence was also found with stab wounds but is expected to survive.

The teen informed the police that she discarded the knife used in the incident towards a neighbor’s house.

Investigators discovered padlocks on the kitchen cabinets and drawers within the home, with reports suggesting that a drawer containing cutlery was missing, and its padlock was found on the ground.
