Ipswich Funeral For Ex-Strictly Star Robin Windsor

A private funeral is scheduled to be held in Ipswich for former Strictly Come Dancing professional Robin Windsor, who passed away at the age of 44.

Windsor, renowned for his appearance on the news show from 2010 to 2013, will be laid to rest in his hometown on Tuesday.

During his time on the program, Windsor dazzled audiences with his performances alongside various celebrities, including Dragons’ Den star Deborah Meaden and actresses Patsy Kensit, Anita Dobson, and Lisa Riley.

In a statement released by his family, it was conveyed that the funeral “will be a private service for invited family, friends, and colleagues who were important to Robin in both his personal life and professional career.”

Windsor’s talent as a professional Latin and ballroom dancer was evident throughout his career, and he notably partnered with Great British Bake Off host Alison Hammond and Radio 2 presenter Sara Cox for the show’s Christmas specials.

“We once again thank everyone for the love and memories shared by Robin,” the statement continued. “As a family, we also please ask for there to be no further upsetting speculation. We thank you for respecting our continued privacy at this difficult time.”

The announcement of Windsor’s passing came in February, prompting tributes from the Strictly team, who expressed being “deeply saddened” by the loss of their “dear friend.”

According to his website, Windsor’s journey in dance began at the age of three, when his parents enrolled him in classes in Ipswich. He went on to represent England in numerous championships, both domestically and internationally.

In addition to his television appearances, Windsor also graced the stage in productions such as Come What May, a tribute to Moulin Rouge, and Burn the Floor.
