Porn star Emily Willis‘ health has shown slight improvement after she suffered a cardiac arrest and slipped into a coma during her stay at a celebrity rehabilitation center two months ago, leaving her family preparing for the worst.
The 25-year-old adult star, still in a vegetative state in a California hospital, has shown signs of consciousness, according to her stepfather, Michael.
Reports indicate Willis can now track objects with her eyes, smile, and display emotions during conversations.
Initially seeking treatment for addiction, Willis, also known as Litzy Lara Banulos, had been at the Malibu rehab center for eight days before being discovered unresponsive, initially suspected of a drug overdose.
She was swiftly taken to a Thousand Oaks hospital in critical condition on February 5 and placed on a ventilator.
Despite some progress, doctors are not optimistic about Willis’ recovery beyond what has been achieved so far.
A toxicology report revealed no drug traces in her system, perplexing medical experts about the cause of her cardiac arrest.
In a bid to be closer to family and reduce medical expenses, the family aims to relocate Willis from the California hospital to one in St. George, Utah.
To cover her extensive medical bills, Willis’ brother initiated a GoFundMe campaign, which has surpassed its $60,000 target, raising over $65,000.
Following widespread speculation about Willis’ health online, her family released a statement to provide clarity:
“I am updating everyone concerned about my sister’s well-being. There has been misinformation about Emily’s condition, and we wish to clarify her progress. Emily remains in a vegetative state and is fighting for her life.”
