Former Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn’s Son Charged Of Child Abuse

Seattle Police have arrested Jack McGinn, son of former Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn, on two charges of sexual exploitation of a child.

The arrest of 29-year-old Jack Francis Lynch McGinn followed an online tip received by the authorities, leading them to his home in Greenwood.

The investigation was initiated with a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), reporting the distribution of hundreds of child (pornography) sexual abuse images.

Subsequently, Google flagged a CyberTip to the same center, linked to an email address, McJack.2oh6@gmail.com, associated with an IP address in the Seattle area, registered under Jack’s mother’s name.

Upon locating McGinn at his residence, police promptly arrested him without incident. During the search, officers discovered further incriminating evidence on electronic devices.

McGinn, who served as Seattle Mayor from 2010 to 2014, prioritized environmental initiatives during his tenure, advocating for alternative transportation modes such as biking and public transit. Despite criticism of his management style and handling of city affairs, he gained support from environmental advocates and progressives. However, McGinn was defeated by Ed Murray in the 2013 primary election.

Despite his loss in the election, McGinn has remained active in Seattle’s political scene, continuing to advocate for environmental causes and providing consulting services on urban policy and sustainability.
