Who IS Alina Habba And Why Is She Representing Donald Trump?

The most remarkable feature to emerge from Donald Trump’s offensive trial has been the frequent clashes between his lawyers, Ms. Alina Saad Habba, and a seasoned judge who has asked her many times if she had understood the law and had her legal degree in law.

Ms. Habba, an American lawyer, was born on March 25, 1984, and was the managing partner of Habba Madaio & Associates LLP, a firm based in Bedminster, New Jersey. Nowadays, to represent Mr. Trump, the former US president, in some dangerous cases, she goes to court. Ms. Habba was born into a Chaldean Catholic family who migrated from Iraq to the United States in the early 1980s.

Between 2005 and 2007, Habba worked in the fashion industry in accessory production and marketing with executives at Marc Jacobs. Although she enjoyed her job in the fashion industry, she decided to attend law school, so she returned to college for her law degree. She got a law degree from Widener University in Pennsylvania in 2010.

In the beginning, she worked as a clerk for Eugene J. Codey Jr., then presiding judge of the civil Superior Court of New Jersey. A year later, she started a private practice and carried on the practice for many years before starting her own firm in 2020.

Habba had never worked as a lawyer for Trump when, in September 2021, he hired her as part of his legal team, replacing several well-established lawyers who had worked for Trump for many years but had withdrawn their services for many reasons.

Ms. Habba got a hike in her law career due to representing the former president of the USA in the court of law, replacing his most prominent and renowned lawyers.

She was quickly recognized by a billionaire after her work for him led Apprentice contestant Summer Zervos to drop her sexual assault case.

Ms. Habba is also representing Mr. Trump in his $100 million case against The New York Times and his niece, Mary Trump. The civil fraud case by the New York attorney general against him is also represented by her.

In a lawsuit by E. Jean Carrol in court of Judge Lewis Kaplan, Ms. Habba squabbled with the judge, which led to an admonishing of her for not getting out of her chair while addressing the court. He repeatedly asked her to “sit down” or keep quiet during the opposing counsel’s argument. In denial of her request to postpone the date of her appearance due to the funeral of her mother-in-law, the judge told her, “I will hear no further argument about it.” As she continued to argue, he snapped, “None. Do you understand that word?”

Ms. Habba was also reprimanded for failing to introduce evidence into the record in the right way. He called a break in the hearing and advised her to “refresh your memory about how it is you get a document into evidence.”

She has been famous for her appearances at Trump’s club in New Jersey and Florida. She posted a photo of herself beside her cake with Trump. She is also a senior advisor for the political action committee, MAGA Inc., supporting Mr. Trump’s re-election. According to some media reports, she has been paid over $3.5 million for her work for the group.
